Reports are coming in that the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown just got out of a rehab program for anger management. It appears he has a new attitude and a new game plan, which is to prove that he can get over his anger issues. More news has been reported that Brown recently posted a picture of himself drinking a protein shake, in an apparent attempt to show he’s turning over a new leaf.
During one of his weekly press conferences, Antonio Brown was asked about his social media presence. The wide receiver was asked about a post he made on Instagram about being 29,000 followers away from breaking NFL player Antonio Cromartie’s record for most followers at the age of 29.
At one point, many wondered if Antonio Brown would ever play in the NFL again. He had problems on and off the field and ended up being suspended for over a year. But after signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, Brown started acting like a completely different person.
With his latest Instagram post, he even seems to want to prove once again that he has indeed changed.
After Brown signed with the Buccaneers in October 2020, he seems focused on staying out of trouble. Bucs coach Bruce Arians even said in November that Brown has been a model citizen so far, according to ESPN.
Brown also said the right things.
Being away from the game for a year and a half, being part of the process, being there today with the guys – it was surreal, something I don’t take for granted, something I really appreciate, something I understand better, he said in November, according to ESPN.
Brown played well for the Buccaneers in 2020. He caught 45 passes for 483 yards in eight games and helped Tampa Bay win the Super Bowl. Because he proved he was still playing at a high level and had no issues, the Buccaneers signed him to a new contract this season.
But if his immediate future is secure, it seems that Brown has yet to show that he has changed his mind.

Brown has already had several issues with the NFL during his string of problems on and off the field. He has threatened to leave football because of the problems with helmet rules in the league and has repeatedly announced his departure from the New England Patriots in 2019.
The league also suspended Brown for eight games in 2020.
The eighth. However, on July 20, 2021, Brown wrote an Instagram post against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
In a photo showing him and Goodell shaking hands during the Super Bowl, Brown wrote a caption that sounds like a thank you to the commissioner.
When we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest form of gratitude is not to say the words, but to live them. #APG (appreciation, perspective, gratitude), he wrote.
This post might end up being a sign for the new Antonio Brown. He still hates the league for suspending him, but he is grateful for his second chance.
Let’s hope Brown has put his earlier phase of fearful behavior behind him.
With the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown is one of the most notable running backs in NFL history. He was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times and made first team All-Pro four times.
However, the Steelers withdrew him from the Week 17 game in December 2018. Less than two months later, he parted ways with Pittsburgh and was acquired by the Oakland Raiders in March 2019.
Brown had a number of incidents with the Raiders, including a problem with the NFL’s helmet rules. Oakland fired the receiver after he got into an argument with Raiders general manager Mike Mayock, and he signed with the New England Patriots shortly thereafter.
In September 2019, Brown’s former coach accused him of sexual assault and sued, according to Sporting News. He appeared in one game with the Patriots before New England let him go.
Brown was subsequently arrested in January 2020 after allegedly assaulting a truck driver for a trucking company. The incident led to an eight-game suspension, which he served before playing his first game against the Buccaneers in November 2020.
According to an Associated Press report on TribLive, Brown settled the lawsuit related to the alleged sexual assault in April 2021. In June of this year, he completed his two-year probation for the truck incident, but he still had to settle a civil suit.
Brown’s problems were certainly an issue. Many fans felt he should not have been given a second chance. But he seemed to have a new perspective on life and his past behavior.
Although his future in the NFL is still uncertain after this season, he is much brighter than he was a year ago. I hope Brown has changed.
