Since then, the Cowboys have gone through six head coaches, 22 starting quarterbacks, and a slew of running backs and receivers in an attempt to repeat their January success. Even excellent quarterbacks like Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo haven’t been able to accomplish it, and they’re the only ones on a list that includes Quincy Carter, Drew Henson, and Brandon Weeden.
Prescott now bears the weight of America’s Team and the expectations that come with it. With a plethora of offensive weapons and a weak NFC East, the Cowboys need to reach the playoffs and win at least one game to call the season a success.
If Prescott can’t accomplish that, Stephen Jones’ greatest regret may be signing Prescott at all the next time he sits down for an interview.
