Jackson State University running back Ronnie Wingo was a star athlete at Jackson State University, and one of the best running backs in the NCAA back in the late 1990s.

Deion Sanders, a former football star and current reality show star, has a history of making bold predictions. As a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Deion told a locker room full of reporters that he believed that one of his former Jackson State players would win a Super Bowl ring before that player turned 40. And just a few weeks later, Deion was proven right. In a recent interview, Deion predicted that a former Jackson State football player will be a member of the NFL’s Hall of Fame. The player in question? None other than Ndamukong Suh.

After Deion Sanders took over as head coach of Jackson State, he asked one of his players, Aaron Shaw, to put together a statistical report about his game. Aaron obliged, and the results were pretty impressive. The 21-year-old had 37 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown.. Sanders, Deion, the head coach of the Jackson State football team, is entering his second season. The Tigers completed the shortened 2020 season with a 4-3 record.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer has an uncanny ability to see potential, as shown by the fact that he has recruited many highly regarded players to join him at Jackson State. De’Jahn Warren, one of his outstanding players, received great accolades from him. Sanders thinks he has a chance to play in the NFL in the future.

Sanders accepted the position at Jackson State to bring attention to historically black colleges and universities.

When Deion Sanders announced his appointment as the new head coach of the Jackson State football team, he made headlines. In contrast to their Power 5 conference peers, historically black colleges and universities have long been underfunded. Sanders wants to alter this.

Coach Prime appeared on the I Am Athlete podcast with Brandon Marshall, Chad Johnson, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor. He spoke on what it takes to reverse the tide and increase the visibility of HBCU programs. Institutions like Jackson State, according to Crowder, are unable to compete with Power 5 schools such as Alabama, Michigan, and Florida State.

“You bring in a conduit for change,” the eight-time Pro Bowler replied. A movement has emerged to level the playing field. Prime, on the other hand, wants to go a step farther. “First and foremost, I do not want to level nothing. He said, “I want to have the upper hand.”

Sanders thinks he has a better understanding of young black athletes than other Power 5 league coaches. He believes that athletes who are “into the glitter and glam” should attend one of those institutions, but that there is more to it than that.

He wondered aloud, “Why can’t we be the change for ourselves?” Sanders attended Florida State University and claims that athletes like him helped put the football program on the map. Players and coaches, he believes, have the ability to influence how HBCU sports are seen.

De’Jahn Warren, according to Sanders, is a potential NFL player.

Coach Prime, a Barstool Sports series, chronicled Deion Sanders’ first season as head coach of the Jackson State football team. The documentary gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the former All-Pro cornerback’s efforts to resurrect the program.

Defensive back De’Jahn Warren is featured in Episode 3 as one of Sanders’ finest players. Suitland High School in Landover, Maryland was where he played high school football. He went on to Lackawant to Community College after that. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Warren has risen to the No. 2 junior college talent in the country. Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, and Oklahoma were among the top college football schools that offered him scholarships.

Warren had originally committed to Georgia, but Sanders and his coaching staff were able to convince him to switch his mind and pledge to the Tigers. The junior is one of the defensive leaders for Jackson State. In the spring, he started six games and had 17 solo tackles, one interception, and three pass breakups. Opposing quarterbacks seldom passed to his side due to his exceptional ball abilities.

His teammates and coaches refer to him as “Nugget.” Sanders extols the virtues of his youthful team.

Nugget is the kind of child that, once he understands the finer points of the game, including the dos and don’ts, as well as situational hand placement, hips and all, becomes a force to be reckoned with. Nuggets is going to be an issue once he realizes that.

Sanders went on to say, “The sky’s the limit.” “We’re searching for three more Nuggets, which is difficult to find since he’ll be playing on Sundays.

Warren made the move from safety to cornerback, and who better to learn from than the man himself?

Coach Prime thinks that several of his players have the potential to play on Sundays in the future, even if Warren is the most NFL-ready of the Jackson State football squad.

The two-time Super Bowl winner spoke on ESPN’s First Take to talk about the film and his trip to Jackson, Mississippi. Sanders said that he believes his guys are capable of competing with some of college football’s top players.

“The only thing that separates these people from the Power 5 men is exposure, not just resources,” he said. He also said that there are a number of players that are “extremely draftable” and have the ability to be chosen in the first three rounds of the NFL draft.

Starting with Sanders’ own boys is the greatest way to start. In 2021, Shedeur Sanders is expected to be the starting quarterback. Despite receiving offers from colleges such as Alabama, Florida, and LSU, the former four-star recruit chose to play for his father. Shilo Sanders, a former three-star recruit who transferred from South Carolina, is his brother.

Prime was able to pull in a number of additional transfers, including linebackers Abdul-Malik McClain of USC and Nyles Gaddy of Tennessee. On offense, they acquired Trevonte Rucker and Quaydarius Davis, two four-star wide receivers who chose Jackson State over Power 5 institutions.

Sanders is creating something unique with Jackson State’s football program, which has the potential to develop into an unexpected NFL pipeline.
