Controversial sports commentator Skip Bayless has never been shy about his feelings on the Dallas Cowboys, but he is still surprised at how Dak Prescott’s $40 million contract went.
The “dallas cowboys breaking news” is a controversial hot take artist who has been defending the Dallas Cowboys. Even though he has reservations about Dak Prescott’s $40 million contract, he still believes that the team will make it to the Super Bowl this season.
The Dallas Cowboys just defeated the New Orleans Saints by a score of 10 points. The defense, which intercepted Saints quarterback Taysom Hill four times, was spectacular, but the Cowboys’ offense still has some kinks to work out.
Still, a victory is a win, and Dallas will take it on the road in New Orleans ten times out of ten. Most commentators seem to agree with this assessment of the victory, while controversial radio presenter Colin Cowherd found a way to criticize Dak Prescott despite praising the Cowboys as a whole.

In March of 2021, the Cowboys signed Prescott to a four-year, $160 million deal, which equates to $40 million each year. That’s a large chunk of the pie any way you slice it, and it puts Prescott towards the top of the league in terms of average quarterback pay (third) and total cash guaranteed (first).
With huge money comes enormous expectations, but Prescott will never be considered an exceptional quarterback like Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes. He’s a brilliant quarterback, but he’s also a superb game manager at times, something the Cowboys must have known when they signed the contract.
Against the Saints, this was clear. Despite the fact that Dallas scored 27 points, Prescott only completed 26 of 40 passes for 238 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Prescott played an ordinary, if not below average, game. He’s had a lot of them this season, prompting Cowherd to wonder whether he’s worth a lot of money.
Colin Cowherd is pessimistic. Prescott has a salary of $40 million every season.
The irony of Cowherd’s opinion on Prescott is that it was wrapped up in a very innocent defense of Dallas.
“Dallas will comfortably win the division.” The city of Dallas is now in top position. Dallas is becoming healthier in several crucial areas. Cowherd stated, “That’s all the good news.”
He then shifted his attention to Prescott, who had a dismal quarterback rating of 38.3 percent in the victory.
“Dak isn’t a very attractive thrower. Dak has never been a very graceful thrower. It’s why I had misgivings about handing him $40 million, and I still have them,” Cowherd added. “There are two types of quarterbacks: the large bag and the tiny bag. On most Sundays in the NFL, a wide receiver, center, or running back is absent. When everything goes perfectly, Dak is a big-time quarterback, but that isn’t always the case, particularly in December.”
Cowherd’s critique of Prescott comes down to the quarterback’s requirement for flawless circumstances in order to perform at an exceptional level.
To prove Cowherd’s case, top wideout Amari Cooper has been out for the previous two games due to COVID-19, and he didn’t seem entirely recovered versus the Saints. Prescott was 0-2 without Cooper during that time, throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions. He’s thrown eight interceptions this season, three of which have come in the previous three games.
“Am I worried that Dak, who has never been and never will be an artful thrower, seems to struggle at times without Amari Cooper?” “It’s true,” Cowherd added.
With Prescott as quarterback, can the Cowboys still win a Super Bowl?

Prescott can lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory. This season, it’s most likely not going to happen.
That’s not to say Dallas can’t become hot, as we saw earlier in the season when the Cowboys went on a six-game winning run. It’s more about the reality that Dallas hasn’t played many full games this season, and that’s the kind of effort that’ll be required to beat the Packers, Cardinals, and Buccaneers in a packed NFC.
The Cowboys hold a comfortable lead over the rest of the NFC East, allowing them to pencil themselves into a playoff place. The good news is that this is the case. Their defense, headlined by rookie Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs, is also Super Bowl-caliber. That’s also encouraging.
Those are two compelling reasons to be optimistic about Dallas. There are reasons to be cautious of an offensive that has the firepower to be exceptional but has failed to put it all together.
For Dallas, this is the key question. Can the offense keep up with their defensive counterparts in high-level games?
A lot of it hinges on running back Ezekiel Elliott’s long-term health, which is concerning. The rest is up to Prescott and whether or not he can carry a club to the playoffs on his shoulders.
“Dak isn’t always attractive. He has a lot of power. He comes out on top. The intangibles are quite valuable. He isn’t really attractive. Cowherd said, “That’s not how he plays.”
Does Prescott have the intangibles to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory this season, despite not having a “beautiful” game?
Cowherd, on the other hand, does not seem to agree.
He said, “I do not think Dallas is a Super Bowl club.”
