James Harden Sends a Scary Message to the NBA After Dominant Tour of LA: 'That's Over With'

The early-season difficulties of Brooklyn Nets star James Harden drew a lot of attention from fans and commentators. Even The Beard raised reservations about his participation, which drew harsh criticism from Charles Barkley.

Harden, on the other hand, seems to have found his stride.

Harden returned to the Nets rotation for a Christmas Day matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers after missing four games due to health and safety concerns. In victories against the Lakers and the LA Clippers, he looked like the all-star of old. He also sounds like the self-assured Harden of the past.

In Los Angeles, James Harden led a Nets team without Kevin Durant to a couple of significant victory. He achieved it by putting on a series of stunning performances.

On Christmas Day, the Beard recorded a triple-double against the Lakers, scoring 36 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists. Most significantly, he remained aggressive throughout the game, attempting 17 free throws. The Nets’ aggression paid off, as they outscored the Lakers despite being shorthanded.

At the conclusion of the game, Harden seemed exhausted. He shot 0-for-5 from the field and turned the ball over three times. Despite this, he received much-needed scoring assistance from unheralded guard Patty Mills, who converted a pair of huge free throws down the line to preserve Brooklyn’s win.

Against the Clippers, the 31-year-old stepped it up a level. Harden scored 39 points on 15-of-25 shooting, with 15 assists and eight rebounds, tying his season best. It was his finest performance of the season, according to Basketball Reference’s Game Score statistic.

The Beard’s postgame remarks, on the other hand, virtually pale in contrast to the on-court magnificence.

Harden said that his previous difficulties were no longer an issue.

When asked whether he’s over his injury and can speak about establishing his role, James Harden said, “That’s done with.”

After Monday’s triumph against the Clippers, Harden made it obvious that he is no longer ruminating on his troubles in the first part of the season.

During his postgame news conference, the three-time scoring champion oozed optimistic enthusiasm. He claimed)h/t ESPN) that the dismal results were a thing of the past.

“All right, that’s it. That’s the end of it.”

During health and safety standards, the Beard stated he focused on his physique, eating better and working out whenever feasible. That dedication seems to have made a significant effect.

Harden, on the other hand, didn’t only talk about himself. He went on to claim that the team’s morale is as good as it’s ever been, and that once they’re back to full strength, Brooklyn will be rolling.

“My self-assurance is at an all-time high. ” Add in KD, Kai, LaMarcus, and Joe Harris [out due to ankle surgery], and you have four of our best players, four of our top guys out. “We have a lot of faith in our bench and in the men that are in the game.”

This sounds more like the preseason Harden, the one who predicted the Nets would wreak havoc on the rest of the league. That’s a win-win situation for Brooklyn.

When Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving return to the rotation, the Nets need Harden to retain his current level of confidence and intensity.

Is Harden able to build on his present success?

Skeptics can argue that Harden’s prolific performances were only possible because of Durant’s absence. To begin with, he had to go out and perform after a two-week hiatus. In addition, The Beard has shown he can play with Durant and Irving on the court.

Last season, Harden averaged 27.8 points, 10.6 assists, and 7.2 rebounds in Brooklyn’s first-round playoff victory against the Boston Celtics. Sure, it’s a tiny sample size, but it demonstrates that Harden can put up impressive statistics when he’s on the court with the Nets’ “Big 3.”

Harden must be the most active offensive player for the Nets to succeed. Durant powered Brooklyn through the early part of the season, but he also played a lot of minutes for a player who is still recovering from an Achilles injury. Irving also need some time to adjust to the tempo. Harden’s urge to have the ball in his hands and create confidence is aided by these elements.

Perhaps Harden only needed to press the rewind button. He carries himself as though he were a former celebrity. When Durant and Irving return to the team, the issue will be if he is still set on imposing his will.

Basketball Reference provided the statistics.
