Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has cemented his dominance as the most hated sports team in America based on their poor performance during the 2017 NFL Playoffs. The tension between him and head coach Mike McCarthy is reaching a boiling point, threatening to poison what was once a golden partnership.

Over the last two decades, the Dallas Cowboys have been known for their humiliating playoff defeats. However, they reached a new low during Sunday night’s defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. With 14 seconds left in the game, the Cowboys called up a QB draw down seven, which baffled Jerry Jones and the rest of the crowd.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense were unable to line up quickly enough, and Prescott spiked the ball into the ground half a second after the game clock had elapsed.
Would a last-second hail mary by the Cowboys have been enough to tie the game? No, most likely not. The point is that they weren’t even able to attempt it. They seemed to be either satisfied with the seven-point defeat or completely oblivious to how much time was still on the clock.
Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys’ coaching staff bear the brunt of the responsibility.
The Cowboys have now missed the conference title game in 11 consecutive postseason appearances.

Prescott may have slipped sooner or done a better job of resetting the line before snapping the ball, according to some. The fact is that a QB draw with zero timeouts should never have been called in the first place.
Dallas should have thrown completely to the sideline or taken just long shots towards the end zone. Instead, they devised the one play in that circumstance that they should have never called.
This is the responsibility of the coaching staff. This was a terrible example of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and head coach Mike McCarthy not comprehending the situation. The public may never know who made the final choice to run a QB draw: Moore or McCarthy. McCarthy, though, is the head coach, so he bears the most of the criticism.
Jerry Jones seemed to be oblivious to Mike McCarthy’s part in the defeat.
Aside from that dreadful last play, the Cowboys were unruly and inattentive for the whole of the game. They had 14 penalties and 98 penalty yards on the day, which again points to McCarthy’s failure to execute in crunch time.
Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, was visibly agitated after the defeat, claiming that the squad he created was much too brilliant to fail. However, when questioned about McCarthy’s future after such a poor coaching performance, Jones dismissed the possibility of a coaching change.
“At this point, I don’t even want to address something like that.” “There will be no debate on anything,” Jones said. “I’m not going to talk about coaching, preparation, or anything like that.” That is not an option.”

Jerry Jones is a prideful man, and his ego has long been a source of contention in Dallas. This seems to be another instance of it happening.
When Jones originally hired McCarthy to coach his football club, he was slammed from all sides. Jones isn’t used to admitting defeat, so firing him after just two seasons would be an admission of failure.
Jones, on the other hand, must be brutally honest about why the Cowboys lost on Sunday if he wants his team to go over the hump and act like a contender. They were just outcoached by the 49ers, despite their superior skill.
McCarthy is responsible for this. Jones is ultimately responsible for McCarthy’s employment since he is the one who hires him.
