The number of weapons in Cincinnati’s arsenal is growing. Joe Burrow may soon welcome yet another weapon to Cincy’s explosive passing game.
Joe Burrow is a quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals. He is expected to be a weapon in the explosive passing game that has been present since the 2018 season. Read more in detail here: ja marr chase and joe burrow.
Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals will have one of the top offenses in the NFL entering the 2022 regular season. Last year, they had Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Joe Mixon, and Tyler Boyd as explosive weapons surrounding Burrow, but they finally upgraded their offensive line this summer by acquiring La’el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras.
Cincy, on the other hand, might bolster its offensive by drafting former Cincinnati Bearcats wide receiver Alec Pierce in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Maybe it doesn’t matter. Or it may mean everything.
The Bengals seem to be interested in wide receiver Alec Pierce as they prepare for the 2018 NFL Draft. Pierce was a key player in bringing the University of Cincinnati Bearcats to the College Football Playoff last season.
According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, the pass catcher had a top-30 meeting with the Bengals earlier this month. Pierce was one among many local celebrities that worked out for Cincy on April 19.
The squad tried out a number of players from UC, Ohio State, and Miami University, according to Sports Illustrated’s All Bengals. Former local high school players who moved on to other institutions were also invited. One of the seven former Bearcats players was Alec Pierce. Darrian Beavers and Joel Dublanko of the linebackers, Curtis Brooks and Marcus Brown of the defensive tackles, Vincent McConnell of the center, and wide receiver Michael Young of the wide receivers joined him.
Will the Bengals give Joe Burrow another weapon in the form of Pierce? It’s difficult to say, but the latter would almost surely boost the effectiveness of that offensive.
Joe Burrow and the Bengals would benefit greatly from the acquisition of Alec Pierce.
The Bengals have a plethora of skilled pass catchers on their roster. Last season, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both had over 1,000 yards, while Tyler Boyd had 828. However, when tight end C.J. Uzomah signed with the New York Jets earlier this offseason, the squad lost a significant amount of output in the passing game.
Why not upgrade the wide receiver room now that Burrow will have more time to throw in 2022?
Pierce has a large frame. He is 6’3″ tall and weighs 213 pounds. He is, nevertheless, a freak athlete. At the NFL Scouting Combine, the Illinois native recorded a 4.41 40-yard sprint. During his senior season, Pierce caught 52 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s been compared to Jordy Nelson by ESPN, and Donovan Peoples-Jones by NFL.com.
Pierce is expected to go in the second or third round, which means Cincy will have to choose him at No. 63 since he won’t be available at No. 95 when they go again. That may be a stretch, but his abilities make him worth the risk.
Overall, Joe Burrow had a fantastic season, throwing for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns while leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl. Pierce’s size and athleticism (coupled with the abilities of Chase, Higgins, and Boyd) can help him achieve his full potential in 2022, and his size and athleticism (combined with the skills of Chase, Higgins, and Boyd) can help him reach his full potential.
