Super-Agent Rich Paul is the highest-paid player in the NBA, with an annual salary of $47,000,000. He is the highest-paid player in all of professional sports with an annual salary of $47,000,000. He is also the highest-paid player in all of professional sports with an annual salary of $47,000,000. That is the kind of money that the NBA is willing to pay to keep him, and that is the kind of money that the NBA is willing to pay to keep him.
As far as rich sports agents go, there are only a few who stand out from the crowd. The King of the Third-Party is one of them.
When the NBA announced that summer that the San Antonio Spurs signed free agent superstar forward Kawhi Leonard, there was a world of excitement amongst basketball fans. After all, the Spurs – the only team in the NBA to have won a championship in four separate decades – were a dynasty. But while the Spurs have dominated the NBA scene over the last century, there has been a dark cloud hanging over them: a series of injuries. Leonard is a particularly devastating injury, one that threatens to end a dynasty, and one that has affected the Spurs in the past. In the past year, the Spurs have had to deal with major injuries to two of their biggest stars: LaMarcus Aldridge and Tim Duncan. In both cases, the team has been forced to
Simply put, Rich Paul is the most powerful person in the NBA.
Paul reminded everyone how far his power in the NBA reaches by delivering a simple message to Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Paul is an American sports agent located in Cleveland, Ohio, for those who are unfamiliar. He established the “Klutch Sports Group” and represents a number of professional players, including Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James.
Paul is the agent for 76ers point guard Ben Simmons, who is presently embroiled in a bitter legal battle over his NBA future. Simmons has been requesting a trade for months (preferably to a California-based team). However, Daryl Morey, the 76ers’ president of basketball operations, is playing the waiting game in an effort to wring as much value as possible from his unhappy star.
Morey and the Sixers looked to be in control for a spell. They wanted a high asking price for Simmons in the hopes that Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal might become available at some time in the future. If that happens, the 76ers will be in a strong position to get one of them, with Simmons serving as the centerpiece of a potential trade deal.
Morey and Philadelphia were having a great time. Then Paul decided to become involved with the sole purpose of serving his client’s best interests.
Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers’ point guard, may be on the move.
Maxey had intended to collaborate with a few local Philadelphia-based groups on some community activities. Those plans were to be canceled, they were informed. If Paul could be gone, he would not want Maxey to establish roots in Philly.

Most Sixers supporters may take solace in the fact that Tyrese Maxey, the team’s first-round selection last year, has the makings of an NBA starter. During his rookie season, the Kentucky product showed a lot of promise, and he’s hoping to make a big step forward in his second year.
One problem: Paul and Klutch Sports represent Maxey.
By threatening to keep Simmons on the roster, the Sixers pushed Paul to get involved, and the Klutch Sports genius didn’t hold back with his first warning shot. Paul placed tremendous pressure on Philadelphia by disclosing that he wanted Maxey moved.
Although Jason Dumas eventually retracted his Maxey reporting, the harm had already been done. If Philadelphia and the rest of the NBA front offices didn’t already know, Paul is the league’s president.
Making an enemy of Rich Paul is a huge mistake.
Rich Paul is a headache to deal with. He’s flexing all of his muscles to get Simmons out of Philadelphia as soon as possible.
August 31, 2021 — Jon Johnson (@jonjohnsonwip)
While Morey has never bowed to an agency before in his career as a front office boss, Paul is no ordinary agent. Almost every major player in the league is represented by him. He also has strong ties to the NBA’s front offices.
Making an enemy of Paul puts the Sixers in danger of becoming a total non-entity in the future. Clients of Klutch Sports will not sign there if Paul tells them not to. The Sixers will not work out for draft hopefuls who want to join Klutch Sports. The list might go on forever.
To say the least, enrage Paul is a risky game to play.
On the other hand, the Lakers have done an outstanding job of accommodating Paul. Despite little salary space, they were able to win a title in 2020 and become significant free agent players.
As annoying as Paul’s demands are, the harsh truth is that his power and influence are limitless. The Sixers, in particular, must begin fulfilling his expectations on a more frequent basis. Every other NBA club should be aware of how messed up things have become in Philadelphia this summer.
Whether front-office execs like to acknowledge it or not, Paul is not someone to cross.

After the NBA Finals ended, newly minted champion Kevin Durant hit the practice court with his newly minted Championship ring to prove a powerful thing: he is the best player in the NBA. He set out to prove himself by dunking on a whiteboard, and the video went viral. In the video, he leaps high, flips over a row of chairs, and dunks it home. He then gets a second chance to dunk on a whiteboard, and he nails it again. This time, he does a double dunk, and a third time, a quadruple dunk..
