The Jacksonville Jaguars, who defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at home to advance to their first-ever conference championship game, decided they would be giving up a number of 2018 draft picks. After an ugly season with some fans questioning his ability and others wanting him traded away for anything, it’s clear that Jalen Hurts is here for the duration in order to keep Alabama from getting shut out of New Year’s Six bowl games during this disappointing year.

The “tampa bay buccaneers playoffs” is a game that the Eagles will be playing on January 7th. The team has been struggling to find their rhythm in the postseason, but with this matchup they might have found it.

The Eagles Just Handed Jalen Hurts a Major Gift in Light of Their Wild Card Round Date With the Buccaneers

This season, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles have opted to rely on the run game to win. Despite entering the season as one of the most pass-heavy teams in the NFL, head coach Nick Sirianni immediately shifted gears after realizing that passing wasn’t the greatest method to use Hurts’ talents.

The Eagles switched to a ground-and-pound offensive for the remainder of the season, a plan that helped them reach the playoffs as a wild-card club.

Against Tampa Bay, the Eagles will most likely rely on their run game.

In the end, if Hurts and the Eagles are to beat Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they’ll have to make some huge plays via the air. The Bucs are averaging 30 points per game on offense this season, and they’ll most certainly score a lot on Sunday.

This does not, however, imply that the Eagles will fully renounce what led them to this point in the first place. The weather prediction calls for heavy rain and strong winds, which is ideal for a team that wants to establish the run early and frequently.

The Eagles will undoubtedly want to run the ball as often as possible, thanks to Hurts, a strong offensive line anchored by two All-Pros in Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson, and a deep running back group.

The Eagles boast the NFL’s greatest rushing offense. The Buccaneers, on the other hand, boast one of the top running defenses in the league. The Bucs have had a lot of success this season at the line of scrimmage, thanks to defensive lineman Vita Vea, Shaquill Barrett, and Ndamukong Suh.

The good news for Philadelphia is that their leading rusher is back in the lineup — just in time to face the feared Tampa Bay defense.

Miles Sanders, the former Penn State running back, returned to Eagles practice this week after missing the previous few games due to a fractured hand that required surgery. He wasn’t wearing a brace, and current indications indicate he’ll start against the Buccaneers.

Hurts and the Eagles have received a huge lift as a result of this. Sanders has been Philadelphia’s starting running back when he’s been healthy; he led all Eagles running backs with 754 rushing yards last season. Hurts and Sanders’ one-two punch has been an effective one for Philadelphia all season.

Will Hurts and the rushing onslaught of the Philadelphia Eagles be enough?

Despite the inclement weather, the result of the Eagles/Buccaneers game will most likely come down to whose side can make more big-time passes.

Tom Brady has a strong track record of performing well in the rain and wind. Not as much as it hurts.

This weekend, the Eagles will ride Hurts and Sanders for as long as they can. Nick Sirianni, on the other hand, will almost certainly have to open up the playbook and start taking shots downfield when the fourth quarter arrives. This is where Brady and the Buccaneers seem to have the upper hand.
