The Houston Texans are resorting to signing 35-year-old locals in a desperate attempt to stay relevant this season. They have signed players such as D’Onta Foreman, who was drafted by the Texans in 2017 and has yet to play a single NFL game.

The texans in trouble is a headline that the Houston Texans are resorting to signing 35-year-old locals in a desperate attempt to stay relevant this season.

The Houston Texans will have the weakest roster in football in 2021. There isn’t much room for debate here.

Houston is likely trying to tank this season under the direction of new general manager Nick Caserio. Given their poor roster and the uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson’s NFL future, pursuing the No. 1 overall selection in next year’s draft makes sense. The Texans have the option of choosing their next franchise quarterback or auctioning it off to the highest bidder.

The Texans’ tank job, on the other hand, isn’t preventing them from generating local anticipation and enthusiasm.

Danny Amendola has signed with the Houston Texans.

Danny Amendola, a 12-year veteran who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Texans. In Houston, Amendola will join a depleted wide receiving corps. Brandin Cooks, who was just traded for Anthony Miller, and Chris Conley make up the group.

Based on these players’ track histories, Amendola is expected to see the field often in 2021.

With the Detroit Lions, Amendola has had back-to-back good seasons. Amendola signed with the Lions in 2019 to reconnect with former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, with whom he had a good on-field relationship. Amendola caught 108 receptions for 1,280 yards and one score during his two seasons with the team.

Amendola gives the Texans’ roster some much-needed depth. It’s worth noting, though, that he will be 36 in November. On paper, giving snaps to an elderly veteran like Amendola makes little sense for a rebuilding team.

So why are the Texans paying $2.5 million to a soon-to-be 36-year-old wide receiver in Amendola?

Simply stated, he’s a native Houstonian. There’s a strong possibility that supporters who cheered for him in high school and college will now cheer for him on the Texans.

Amendola was born and raised in The Woodlands, a town just outside of Houston where he attended high school. He also went to Texas Tech, which is one of the state’s biggest universities. Although Tech is situated in Lubbock on the western border of Texas, it is nonetheless a large Texas institution with a large and devoted fan following.

With the Texans preparing for a low-win season, it makes sense to rely on a local hero like Amendola to create some excitement.

The Houston Texans have a difficult season ahead of them.

On paper, the Texans have the weakest roster in the NFL, yet they don’t have a single rookie starter.

That’s nearly impossible to do.

It doesn’t need to be said again at this time, but the Texans are in for a difficult season in 2021.

Their roster is a jumble, and there aren’t many rookies worth cheering for. The team’s starting quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, was just announced. In all honesty, at this point in his NFL career, he’s better suited for a backup position.

The greatest thing Texans supporters can hope for is to see Amendola return to the Houston region.
