Baseball legend Barry Bonds’ Hall of Fame plaque was vandalized before it could be given to him. The perpetrator left the following note: “This man Russ is a first ballot hall of famer.” This incident has sparked debate on whether or not athletes should be allowed into the hall
The “swaggy p meaning” is a phrase that has been used to describe the play of Miami Heat player, Dwyane Wade. The phrase was created by one of his teammates, LeBron James.
If you’ve been following the NFL playoffs over the last few days, you may have missed the Los Angeles Lakers’ new low. They fell to 21-22 on the season after losing by a stunning 37 points against the Denver Nuggets.
Russell Westbrook’s struggles with the Purple and Gold have persisted, with the majority of the blame (whether warranted or not) resting on his shoulders. During the team’s current slump, though, a fan sent the former MVP a diss rap, which was shared on Instagram. Former Lakers player Nick “Swaggy P” Young came to Westbrook’s rescue as a consequence of the incident.

The Lakers’ season hasn’t gone as well as they had hoped. After assembling a “superteam” that included LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, and others, LA struggled to get off the ground and has never recovered.
Davis hasn’t played in more than a month due to injury, while Westbrook is having one of his worst seasons.
Russ is averaging 18.7 points per game, his lowest total since his sophomore year, with 8.0 assists, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.3 turnovers. In addition, he’s only shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 29.1 percent from beyond the arc. Westbrook has averaged 14.9 points per game in his previous ten games while shooting just 35.9% from the field and making only 19.2 percent of his 3-point attempts.
On the other side, LeBron James is seeing his team squander one of his best seasons ever. He’s scoring 28.9 points per game, his most since 2009-10, while also grabbing 7.5 rebounds and dishing out 6.5 assists. In addition, he’s shooting 51.9 percent from the field, which is his best mark since joining the Lakers.
However, the Lakers have dropped to 21-22 as a consequence of Westbrook’s troubles, Davis’ absence, and the team’s overall bad performance. They would be in the NBA Play-In Tournament if the season ended today.

Russell Westbrook has taken the brunt of the criticism this season due to his poor performance. It’s difficult to recall a time when Russ was under greater scrutiny than he is today, from rival teams making fun of his shooting troubles to talking heads pleading with him to take better care of the ball.
Westbrook just received a diss track in his DMs from a fan. House of Highlights then shared it on Instagram, where Nick “Swaggy P” Young, a former Lakers player who played from 2013 to 2017, defended him.
“That’s why they’re losing,” he said, “because people display more hatred than love.” “This man Russ is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and you guys are talking about him like he’s Tony Snell, no disrespect.”
Young seemed to just want Westbrook to respect him, and he has a point. Russ, on the other hand, deserves a lot of the flak he’s gotten.
Russ is entitled to some criticism, but not all of it.

It’s difficult to dispute with statistics, particularly in recent years. Russell Westbrook is struggling and is a significant cause for the Lakers’ poor performance. Westbrook just has to play complimentary basketball with how good LeBron James is playing, but instead he’s making things more difficult for The King.
The two-time NBA scoring champion must take responsibility for his terrible performance. But he doesn’t deserve to be a meme, and no one should treat him as if he wasn’t one of his generation’s best players.
The Lakers aren’t only bad because of Russ.
Los Angeles is allowing 113.3 points per game, which ranks them 27th in the NBA. That’s not all Westbrook has to offer. Carmelo Anthony, Talon Horton-Tucker, and Malik Monk have defensive box-plus-minus stats that are just as awful, if not worse, than a league-average player per 100 possessions. Westbrook has a score of -0.8.
The Lakers should have enough skill to cover Westbrook’s flaws, but instead they are exacerbating them. Even if he’s not playing well, that roster should still be able to overcome teams like the Sacramento Kings, who have beaten LA twice.
Russell Westbrook, on the whole, deserves a lot of the flak he’s getting. He isn’t the only Laker who is having trouble playing well. This team is just demonstrating how badly formed it is.
Basketball Reference provided the statistics.
