The entire NFL world was thrown into chaos after a shocking trade saw the Houston Texans send quarterback, Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for their first-round pick and another top choice. The Jaguars are now on what is being dubbed as ‘Super Bowl Watch,’ with 6 games remaining before they find out if they will be playing next February or not.

The “trevor lawrence house” is the home of Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. The team erased a miserable 2021 in a span of three hours Sunday.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars Erased a Miserable 2021 in a Span of Three Hours Sunday

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ calendar year could not have been any worse. The Jaguars lost 15 of 17 games on the field in the 365 days between January 3, 2021 and January 2, 2022, dismissed two head coaches, and had their fan base ready to dress up as clowns for the last home game of the 2021 season on Sunday.

The Jaguars were thrashed 50-10 by the New England Patriots on the last day of this nightmare of a calendar year, marking Jacksonville’s eighth straight defeat.

This was not meant to happen following the Jaguars’ first genuinely excellent day of the year, when they selected QB sensation Trevor Lawrence with the first overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft.

However, a new day dawned over TIAA Bank Field on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. The Indianapolis Colts, not the Jaguars, walked off the field in humiliation and sorrow for three hours on Sunday afternoon, their postseason aspirations shattered in a 26-11 flogging at the hands of the Jaguars.

For one day, on the last day of a dismal season, the Jaguars and their supporters could lift their heads high and see what brighter days may look like, rather of simply dreaming about them.

Although the 2021 season was a Meyer Lemon, Lawrence created lemonade for all Jaguars fans on Sunday.

To say the rookie Lawrence’s season has been up and down would be an understatement. From the minute Urban Meyer was recruited to oversee the Lawrence era, the Jaguars, who should have known better, were in serious danger. Lawrence’s growth was also hampered by the fact that it took the team until mid-December to do the obvious and dismiss former Florida and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.

No one, though, has questioned the Clemson star’s skill or work ethic. Bill Belichick was effusive in his praise of the youngster only days before his Patriots thrashed the Jaguars.

Lawrence demonstrated on Sunday why he has a shot to be a spectacular player in the NFL. Lawrence faced down a Colts squad that was favored by two touchdowns and needed a win to secure a postseason place. Lawrence completed 23 of 32 passes for 223 yards and two scores.

Despite not having anything to play for and having lost eight games in a row, Lawrence completed his first 12 pass attempts as the Jaguars sent a statement that they would not be bullied.

Lawrence said, “Oh man, that feels fantastic.” “We want to establish this as the new standard.” It’s no surprise that we come out here, play well in all parts of the game, dominate the game, and win. We want to establish it as the new normal, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here.

“We’re a team that will be ready to play no matter who it is or where it is.” That’s what I’d want us to be recognized for in the future. I believe we’re on our way there. So I’m definitely looking forward to that. Our aim is to win and dominate no matter who it is, and we accomplished it today, and I’m really happy of this bunch.”

The Jaguars won and received the first overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft thanks to the Detroit Lions.

“We’re a squad that will be ready to play no matter who is on the field or where they are. That’s what I want us to be recognized for in the future, and I believe we’re getting there.”

On this particular Sunday, it wasn’t just Lawrence. Jonathan Taylor’s chances of earning the league MVP were shattered as the defense closed down on him. Taylor was restricted to 77 yards on 15 carries against the Jaguars. For quarterback Carson Wentz, things were not much better.

Two of Jacksonville’s six sacks came from Josh Allen. Damien Wilson had a sack, an interception, and a fumble recovery.

Shaquill Griffin of the Jaguars stated, “Oh, wow, that was tremendous.” “We don’t know what’s going to happen with the staff, coaches, or players, but you have one more opportunity to get it on video.” Leave no ambiguity, because you never want to be the guy who says at the end of the season, “Man, I wish I had done a little bit more on this play.” That’s not how you want to start the offseason. You’ll be haunted by it for the rest of your life.”

And if the win on the field wasn’t enough good news for the Jaguars on Sunday, they found out late in the game that, despite their 3-14 record, they didn’t have to give up control of the No. 1 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions took care of that on Sunday, pulling off their own upset against a Green Bay Packers squad that, unlike Indianapolis, had no reason to win. The Lions improved to 3-13-1 with the win, giving the Jaguars the top pick by a half-game.

Jacksonville became the sixth franchise in NFL history to hold the No. 1 selection in consecutive seasons, and the first since the Cleveland Browns in 2017-18.

In Jacksonville, the offseason got a little bit shorter when the Jaguars saved their best for last.

The Jaguars will have a lot on their plate in 2022. There will be another employment of a coach. Will owner Shad Kahn remain general manager Trent Baalke, who was the subject of a “Clown-Out” on Sunday by supporters who dressed up in clown costumes to criticize Baalke’s management of the club throughout his tenure? Who will the Jaguars choose with the first overall selection, and what free agency moves will come before that?

All of these questions will be answered in a few months. For the time being, the Jaguars players and supporters can enjoy a gorgeous Sunday afternoon when their future finally seemed as bright as the Florida sun at the start of a new year with a blank slate.

“I’m looking forward to the future,” Lawrence said. “Help us build some terrific momentum this offseason.” I’m quite proud of this bunch. It’s not easy to have a bad year and come out here knowing you’re not going to make the playoffs, knowing this is your final game, and seeing players finish and not check out and just get to tomorrow when they go on their offseason is inspiring. This was a game that everyone wanted to win. to demonstrate that we do have a sense of pride, and it was a fantastic day.

“I’m just so proud of our soldiers.” Everyone was confined. [The Colts] are in if they win this game. The stakes don’t get much higher, and to come out and dominate at the end of the season feels fantastic.”
